To launch a new product in Europe needs a very careful look on the European Food Regulations, . The European Food Safety Authority`s (EFSA) objective is to ensure that any claim made on a food label in the EU is clear and substantiated by scientific evidence. With the on-going evaluation of the consolidated list of submitted claims by the EFSA, the legal situation for claims will not be clear until 2011, when the completion of evaluation is expected. Regular updates on this work will be provided by EFSA.
We tried to list some of the submitted health claims which have passed EFSA’s pre-screening as “General Function” health claims (defined by article 13.1) like “calcium is good for your bones”. These claims are based on generally accepted scientific evidence.
Listed are claims which describe compounds present in our products as well as compounds that might be a good ingredient to be mixed with our products. This list is not completed, neither is it legally binding.
